The Ashland Police Department would like to extend an invitation to all drivers, young and old, to join
us as we kick-off “Checkpoint Strikeforce” & “Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving: St Patrick’s Day
impaired driving awareness campaign”. This event is also being held in conjunction with Randolph
Macon College’s “Spring into Safety Campaign” and is sponsored by their Residence Life, Office of
Alcohol and Drug Prevention and Campus Safety Office.

* Mammalogues a One Woman ShowMammalogues a One Woman Show Time: 7:00 pm Gene Glave, who used to live in Ashland and now lives in Charleston, SC, has written a one-person show, "Mammalogues." Ms. Glave had breast cancer. This show is a funny and poignant look at what she went through. March 14 at 7:00pm (Blackwell Auditorium at R-MC). All proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Quiet Man is a 1952 American romantic drama film directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara, Victor McLaglen and Barry Fitzgerald. It was based on a 1933 Saturday Evening Post short story by Maurice Walsh. The film is notable for its lush photography of the Irish countryside and the long, climactic, semi-comic fist fight between Wayne and McLaglen. |
