The Ashland Firehouse Theater

will host a presentation entitled ” A Downtown (Ashland) Enhancement Plan.” The presentation will be on Wednesday, January 27. There will be a social time starting at 6:00 PM and the program will begin at 6:30 PM. This presentation is open to all Ashland and Hanover County businesses and to the public. The “Downtown Enhancement Plan” is the result of a three month study by the Masters of Urban & Regional Planning Program, in the Wilder School of Government & Public Affairs, at VCU. The work included extensive research into the issues, interviews with Ashland residents and businesses, and visits to other communities who dealt with revitalization.  The Enhancement Plan reviews the assets of our community and the challenges of going forward. It offers specific recommendations as to possible future efforts that would enhance Downtown Ashland. To that end the VCU work has very important implications on the Ashland Comprehensive Plan that is currently being revised.

This presentation, followed by a discussion period open to participants, is sponsored by the Ashland Main Street Association and the Town of Ashland.
