Ashland Community Relief Fund for HAITI

January 16, 2010 | 0 Comments
The Ashland Community Relief Fund for Haiti is in the works!  We hope to reach as many of our friends and neighbors as possible.  The Fund is being raised in conjunction with the American Red Cross.  All funds collected will be donated to the Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross.  Checks should be made payable to the “American Red Cross, Greater Richmond Chapter”  (this is a CHANGE).

We hope to reach Ashlanders by placing coffee cans around the town, in stores, professional office buildings and anywhere else we can.  The cans will be numbered and labelled with the Red Cross and the words “CHANGE FOR HAITI.  When you see a can please pop in a donation! There will also be an opportunity to donate at Hullaballoo on Friday, Jan 22 at the Hanover Arts & Activities Center.

Speaking of coffee cans we need many and we are therefore asking for donations of cans before we can distribute them around the town. If you have one or several empty coffee cans or similar containers, please call Chris McKelvy at 752-7733 or Carol Owen at 798-2796 and a member of our team will come and collect them.  Don’t delay!  The time to act is NOW.
