RF&P model train show

Didn’t know there was a model train club in Ashland?  We’ve been here for ten years. And now, with the loss of our primary source of funding, we’re threatened with losing our clubroom.  Please come out and support our club and help us stay in Ashland.  The show is Saturday and Sunday, June 12th and 13th, from 10 to 4 each day.  We’re located in the Ashland-Hanover Shopping Center next to the Hallmark store, 229 N. Washington Hwy.  We’re asking for a $5 per person donation at the gate, but no one will be turned away.  We’ll have train merchandise for sale and three different scales of operating model trains.   We’ll even let you hold the throttle and run a train for an extra buck.

Summer Fun at Virginia’s State Parks

Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ashland Library.   Meet Tom Cervenak, Marketing Manager for Virginia State Parks, and find out about all the fun things you can do with your family & friends this summer! Camping, hiking, swimming, biking, interpretive programs, horseback riding, canoeing, and so much more await you at our State Parks. Tom will have some giveaways and prizes. Golf Tournament at the Hollows

Friday, June 11 at 1:00pm – Fundraiser for the Mechanicsville Mustangs Softball.  Come support 4 Ashland players and play golf at the same time!  $280 per foursome ($70/person). R-MC Softball Camp now accepting applications

Luck Chevrolet Goes To Bat for Ashland Little League Baseball

Luck Chevrolet to provide Ashland Little League Baseball with new equipment, monetary donation, instructional clinics; Additional funds via Chevy Vehicle Giveaway 

Ashland (May 2010) –  Luck Chevrolet announced it will once again be investing support in Ashland through a partnership with Ashland Little League Baseball.  Luck Chevrolet will provide baseball equipment, instructional clinics, a monetary donation, and an opportunity to raise an additional $10,000 in funds through a Chevy vehicle giveaway-fundraiser.  The effort by Luck Chevrolet is part of the Chevy Youth Baseball initiative sweeping the nation from March through July 2010.  More »

Prichard and Foley Win Town Council Seats

Polls closed at 7 pm, and election officers announced the results shortly thereafter — incumbent Faye Prichard received 377 votes, and James Foley grabbed 367.  Write-in candidates accounted for the remaining 115.  Thanks to everyone who came out to vote today!

Lunch on the Lawn

Please join us this Wednesdays for “Lunch on the Lawn” in front of Town Hall from noon to 1 PM.  There will be music refreshments, chips and a chance to meet with fellow Ashland business people and residents.  Bring your sandwich and a friend and meet us on the lawn.
