VIDEO – Town Council Candidates Meet & Greet

On April 21, 2010, the candidates for Town Council gathered at the FireHouse Theater for a “Meet and Greet” with the public, sponsored by the Coalition for Hanover’s Future, Randolph-Macon College and the Herald-Progress.  There are two seats open on Town Council — Faye Prichard is seeking another term, on a ticket with James Foley who is campaigning for the seat being vacated by Billy Martin.  Lucinda Jones is a write-in candidate.  Click on a thumbnail to watch all three respond to a question collected from the audience, or watch sequentially for the entire event.

Dr. Lauren Hill of Randolph-Macon College was the moderator.  Andrea Ferment of the Coalition for Hanover’s Future was the host. With much thanks to the League of Women Voters for their guidance and support, and the Ashland FireHouse Theater for a welcoming venue for the event.

Please don’t forget to vote on May 4 — every vote counts! More »

Next Ashland Arts Network Meeting

The Ashland Arts Network meets next on 5/3/2010 at 7pm at Ashland
Coffee & Tea. This is a reminder to members to bring in artwork for review,
that will potentially be in the June exhibit at the Ashland Coffee & Tea Listening Gallery.
Art will be chosen based on what is brought in by our members.

Ragan Phillips from AMSA will also stop by to briefly introduce us
to the “2020 Vision” recently presented to the Town Council. It outlines
some inspiring recommendations for the cultural direction for Ashland’s
future, defining it as “A Creative Community.”
